Isle Style

Our wardrobes have
Somewhat decayed.

Your pants and shirts
Are rather frayed.

My skirts and tops
Look retrograde.

Your sweaters all
Resemble suede.

My only coat
Is long past trade.

Your belts and ties
Appear ill-made.

My handbag wins
No accolade.

Most shoes and hats
Could use first aid.

At least our love
Has yet to fade.

Jane Blanchard lives and writes in Georgia. Her poetry has been published around the world. Her collections—the shorter Unloosed and the longer Tides & Currents—are available from Kelsay Books.
