Ox-Coast for Two
After a certain Parisian menu

Now what should we plump for today?
Maybe salad of crudenesses? What?
The duck in his light grease? Okay,
That sounds pretty good. Yes, why not?

The grilled paving-stone might be nice
With a bit of young broccoli growth,
Or perhaps you would rather a slice
Of this bread of the goat? Or have both?

How greedy we tourists must seem!
For decency’s sake let’s eschew
The island in Englishman’s cream
To leave room for an ox-coast for two.
