The Octopus
It’s English, so we’re making fusses
About a bunch of octopuses.
If you would like the rhyme, then why
Should not a pair be octopi?
Or if it makes for fairer odes
The plural could be octopodes.
The point is moot. And silly. VERY.
The octopus is solitary.
