Dear Parents, your children are greatly distraught
by the death of their chicken who valiantly fought
for her life and she’ll always inhabit a spot
in our hearts—now, her vet bills came out to a lot
and I’m grateful for all the donations I got
but these carrots and onions and noodles are not
what I meant when I asked you to add to the pot.
