Karma Trouble
A ladybug, alas, alas,
got on the wrong side of the glass.
We’ll see now what’s left of my ration
of that rare thing we call compassion,
if I should pity her and brush her
out the window, or just crush her.
There’s just one thing that gives me pause:
the doctrine of effect and cause.
What consequence might one day come
from bringing down my risen thumb?
The window up, she flies away.
My Buddhist moment of the day.
