The Buzz
Fire and ice: the over-glossed
grim ironies of Robert Frost,
who posited horrific ends
for enemies & pseudo-friends.
Yet something simpler can occur—
a microscopic massacre:
perhaps God’s last Put out the Light’s
a few strategic tsetse bites.

wrote this poem on a hot, humid day in Uruguay this past January. No tsetse flies, but a good many mosquitoes!
