David Smith is a father of two and a professor of physics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He has been writing light verse on and off for over 30 years, usually for an audience of one, but his work has appeared in the Washington Post‘s Style Invitational humor contest, and he once wrote a limerick that went mildly viral in the physics community.
