Roundel as Spousal Response

“Not everything needs to become a poem.”

What can I say except “How true”?
“Indeed”? “Correct”? “Spot-on”? “Touché”?
When choosing to agree with you,
What can I say?

Admittedly, I like to play
Word games with life events anew
At almost any time of day.

Now, pardon me, if you are through,
So I may turn our repartee
Into a poem for review.
What can I say?

Jane Blanchard lives and writes in Georgia (USA). Her latest collection is Metes and Bounds (2023).
