Free from ancestral fear of hooves and hounds,
The urban fox that makes its evening rounds
Along the road beyond the garden’s bounds
Heeds car horns now, not huntsmen’s tinny sounds.

The locals claim it’s most unwise
To seek a quiet drink round here.
They say you’ll watch the bubbles rise
And find they serve a noisy beer.
