Ladies and Gentlemen, Please Kneel for Our National Anthem

by Edmund Conti

José, can you see (no, I guess not, the Wall)
What so proudly we hail by the stadium’s light.
Whose broad stripes and bright stars (they were not meant for all)
Were meant for just us English-speaking and white.
And the terrorists’ glare, their bombs bursting in air
Gave proof that with ISIS, you’d better stay there.
Yes, stay where you are and do us all a fave.
Don’t come to the land of the free and the brave.
