A Tiny Incident

After years of restraint and discretion,
Jack decided to act on obsession:
whipped it out on the subway
but the girls said, “It’s OK—
it was only a microagression.”

Scott Miller was born in Philadelphia under the sign of the Lion. Finding his initial study of mathematics insufficiently antisocial, he added poetry to a growing list of maladjustments and phobias, earning his M.F.A. from Antioch Los Angeles in 2008. Scott has conned several journals into publishing his work, including Raintown Review and Barrow Street, and in 2014 he absconded with the Write Prize from Able Muse Press. Scott lives under a cloud of methane in Southern California with his wife and two sons.
