Driving Through Woods
in a Drunken Stupor
on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I’m sure I know.
His vicious dogs will chase me, so
I’ll drive right on. I can’t stop here
to use the bathroom in the snow.

My little car must think it queer
to poke along in second gear.
Though folks say cars don’t think or speak,
Babe does when I’ve had too much beer.

I rest in her, for I am weak.
Just one more look—now I must seek
a nearby place. I’ve gotta go.
The prospects here are way too bleak.

Old man and dogs are here! Oh, no!
They’re messing up the lovely snow.
Speed up, Li’l Babe; I gotta go.
Speed up, Li’l Babe; I gotta go.
