Life’s Circles

I came upon a pretty belt
I wore when I was young and svelte,
And found myself repeating:
By obligations, I’m not bound.
Just like this belt, I get around
But won’t come to a meeting.

Pat D’Amico lives in Kirkland, Washington. She has had hundreds of poems published in The Wall Street Journal, The Saturday Evening Post, Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine, Light (both in print and online), Lighten Up Online, and Northwest Prime Time, a regional newspaper.
