Predestination

Though I’ve tried all my life, still I find
I fall short, for I never have been
A man with the keenness of mind
To invent an original sin.

Michael Harty is a retired psychoanalyst who lives near Kansas City and spends a great deal of time catching up on poetry he didn’t have enough time for while working full time. His poems have been published in a number of periodicals, including New Letters, Kansas City Voices, I-70 Review, Coal City Review, and others. He has published one chapbook, The Statue Game, and has two others in preparation.
